Dorset local John Butler recently found his way back to performing, after an unplanned gap of twenty years or so. He performs as The Woodlouse (a moniker that’s followed him through adult life) to differentiate himself from other performing John Butlers.
Woodlice are sometimes happy to be out in the open but at others hide inside their protective shell. The development of The Woodlouse’s first solo show followed a similar pattern: hidden away writing, drawing, animating, composing, arranging, rehearsing – then out on display, bringing the show on tour with nowhere to hide!
